The various projects included exterior and extensive interior renovation of this classic 100-year-old structure. Completed in phases, these projects presented unique challenges due to the necessary simultaneous occupancy of the non-renovated areas of the courthouse.
The renovations included a redesign of the functional layout of all county departments and their finishes. Also included were a host of other updates: waterproofing of the foundation, single-ply membrane and clay tile roof coverings, windows, monitored security system, electrical service entrance and re-wiring of the building, lighting, information technology and “smart courtroom” systems, “clean power” system for electronic components, monitored fire alarm and smoke detection systems, fire sprinkler system, heating, ventilating and air conditioning equipment and controls components, and additional toilet facilities.
