Dining Hall
Chattanooga, TN
(with TVS Interiors)
CLIENT:
McCallie School
COMPLETION:
2004
SIZE:
31,000 sq. ft.

DESCRIPTION:
The dining hall is sited among the various dormitory buildings housing the majority of the McCallie student population. The colonial Georgian detailing blends with the rest of this Neoclassical boarding school campus. The facility seats up to 390 students in the main dining hall. The kitchen and serving area produces three meals per day. The serving area is a “scramble” type server, with different food stations spread out in a 3,700 sq. ft. area. The 6,700 sq. ft. kitchen prepares all in-dining meals and also provides campus-wide catering services.

A separate headmaster dining room serves over 20 guests. Additionally a large, dividable meeting room can seat about 140 for dinner and about 160 for a presentation.
